Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents to protect the American people by safeguarding borders and deterring illegal activities. This full-time federal law enforcement position offers significant incentives and a career path within an elite team dedicated to public safety and security.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Prevent and apprehend noncitizens and smugglers at or near the borders.
  • Perform patrols using various government assets including vehicles and ATVs.
  • Inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship and law violations.
  • Conduct farm checks, building checks, and traffic checks.

Required skills

  • Experience in public safety, security, military police or law enforcement.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in stressful situations.
  • Skills in gathering information through questioning and observation.
  • Ability to interpret and follow tracks and physical evidence.
  • Spanish language proficiency (training provided).
