Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents in Jackman, Maine, to embark on a federal law enforcement career that contributes to national security. Candidates will engage in a range of duties aimed at protecting the nation's borders and may be eligible for substantial sign-on and retention incentives.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and custom laws.
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders.
  • Conduct surveillance and patrol international boundaries using various government assets.
  • Inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
  • Perform city patrols, farm checks, and other checks as needed.
