Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) is looking for entry-level Border Patrol Agents to fill full-time federal law enforcement positions. This role involves safeguarding the borders, deterring illicit activity, and enhancing the nation's economic prosperity while working with a dedicated team.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near the borders.
  • Perform patrols and checks using various government assets.
  • Maintain surveillance and interpret physical evidence of illegal entry.
  • Work in mission-critical locations across the Southwest Border.

Required skills

  • Prior experience in public safety, security, military police, or law enforcement.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • Experience in making arrests and using firearms.
  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of experience and education.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
