Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents to join their mission of protecting the American people and securing the borders. This full-time federal law enforcement role offers an opportunity for a long-term career in a team-oriented environment, where prior experience in public safety or law enforcement is beneficial. Additionally, the position includes various incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration law violations.
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers.
  • Conduct surveillance and maintain a presence in various locations.
  • Perform checks on farms, buildings, traffic, and conduct city patrols.
  • Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets.

Required skills

  • Experience in law enforcement, military police, or public safety.
  • Ability to make sound judgments and decisions under stress.
  • Strong observational and questioning skills.
  • Capacity to learn regulations and techniques through training.
  • Proficient in Spanish and English.
