Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents in Colville, Washington, offering a fulfilling career in federal law enforcement that contributes to national security. Key responsibilities

  • Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws
  • Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers
  • Interpreting and following physical evidence of illegal entry
  • Conducting checks on farms, buildings, and vehicles
  • Patrolling international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets

Required skills

  • General work experience or a bachelor's degree for GL-5 grade level
  • Specialized work experience for GL-7 grade level
  • Ability to make sound judgments and decisions under pressure
  • Law enforcement or military experience may qualify for higher grade levels
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required
