Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents to join their mission of protecting the country and its citizens. This is a full-time federal law enforcement position that offers career growth with excellent base pay, exceptional benefits, and significant incentives for new hires. Candidates will undergo training at the U.S. Border Patrol Academy before beginning their work in various duty locations.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration violations
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers
  • Conduct patrols using various government assets
  • Perform checks on buildings, farms, traffic, and transportation
  • Maintain surveillance for illicit activities

Required skills

  • Experience in public safety, military police, or law enforcement
  • Ability to make sound decisions in stressful situations
  • Skills in questioning, observation, and analytical thinking
  • Ability to effectively deal with the public in law enforcement situations
  • Spanish language proficiency
