Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents to join their team, offering a significant opportunity for a long-term career in federal law enforcement. Candidates will have the chance to make a difference in national security while enjoying competitive pay and incentives.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration and customs law violations.
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near the borders.
  • Patrol the international boundary and coastal waterways using various government assets.
  • Perform farm checks, building checks, and city patrols.
  • Interpret and follow tracks and physical evidence of illegal entries.

Required skills

  • Experience in public safety, security, military police, or law enforcement.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in stressful situations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of immigration and nationality laws.
  • Ability to speak and read Spanish.
