The U.S. Border Patrol is hiring entry-level Border Patrol Agents (BPA) for full-time federal law enforcement positions dedicated to protecting the nation's borders. This role involves working as part of an elite team to deter illicit activities, apprehend violators, and uphold public safety. Candidates with backgrounds in law enforcement or military police are encouraged to apply, as the job offers significant training and promotional opportunities.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration and customs violations
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers
  • Utilize surveillance techniques and equipment during operations
  • Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways
  • Conduct inspections of documents and possessions to establish citizenship or violations
  • Engage in various public safety checks such as traffic and farm checks

Required skills
