Overview

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is hiring Border Patrol Agents at the entry-level for full-time federal law enforcement positions. This role involves protecting America by safeguarding the borders, deterring illegal activities, and enhancing national prosperity, with immediate openings available in various critical locations across the country.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near the borders.
  • Conduct patrols using various government assets including vehicles and vessels.
  • Perform checks on farms, buildings, and other locations to detect illegal activities.
  • Maintain surveillance and gather evidence of illegal entries or contraband.

Required skills

  • Experience in law enforcement, public safety, or military police
  • Ability to make sound decisions in stressful situations
  • Strong observational and questioning skills
  • Familiarity with firearms and law enforcement procedures
  • Teamwork and risk assessment skills
