Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents to join their team in various locations across the country. This career offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on national security through law enforcement, public safety, and crisis management while enjoying robust pay and benefits.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and custom laws
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers
  • Patrol the international boundary and coastal waterways
  • Conduct farm checks, building checks, and city patrols
  • Utilize various transportation assets for patrolling
  • Complete training at the U.S. Border Patrol Academy

Required skills

  • Ability to make sound decisions and maintain composure in stressful situations
  • Experience in public safety, security, military police or law enforcement
  • Ability to gather information through questioning and observations
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish (training provided)
