Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents (BPA) for full-time federal law enforcement roles. This position offers a meaningful career protecting the nation and its citizens, with various locations available, primarily along the U.S. border. Candidates can expect competitive base salaries with opportunities for significant recruitment and retention incentives.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Inspect documents and belongings to determine citizenship or violations.
  • Apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near the borders.
  • Conduct patrols using various modes of transportation including vehicles and ATVs.
  • Perform surveillance and maintain situational awareness during operations.

  • Ability to learn regulations and methods through training.
