Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) for full-time federal law enforcement positions in Nashville, TN. This role is dedicated to protecting the borders, deterring illegal activities, and ensuring the safety of the nation. Candidates with backgrounds in public safety, security, military police, or law enforcement are encouraged to apply, as they may qualify for these positions immediately.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration and customs law violations.
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near the borders.
  • Maintain surveillance and perform checks in various settings, including city patrols and transportation checks.
  • Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets.

Required skills

  • General work experience demonstrating decision-making and composure in stressful situations.
  • Ability to gather and examine information through questioning and observations.
  • Educational qualifications or experience in law enforcement or related fields for higher grade levels.
