The Border Patrol Agent (BPA) position at Customs and Border Protection is a full-time, entry-level federal law enforcement career. Key responsibilities

  • Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws
  • Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers
  • Maintaining surveillance using various techniques, including infrared during night operations
  • Conducting farm, building, traffic, and city patrols
  • Patrolling international boundaries and coastal waterways using government assets
