Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents (BPA) for a federal law enforcement career. This role is crucial for protecting the borders, deterring illegal activities, and supporting national economic growth. Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near the borders
  • Perform inspections of documents and possessions to determine citizenship
  • Conduct patrols using various government assets for border security
  • Maintain surveillance from covert positions during operations
  • Interpret tracks and physical evidence related to illegal entries
  • Engage in community safety activities such as traffic checks and patrols
