Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) is hiring entry-level Border Patrol Agents to protect America's borders and ensure public safety. This full-time federal law enforcement position offers a meaningful career with extensive training and opportunities for advancement within the agency.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and custom laws.
  • Inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near borders.
  • Maintain surveillance using a variety of methods and equipment during operations.
  • Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways with government assets.

Required skills

  • Experience in public safety, military, or law enforcement.

  • Ability to gather information through questioning and observation.
