Overview

The Border Patrol Agent (BPA) role offers an entry-level career in federal law enforcement with the U.S. Border Patrol, providing the opportunity to contribute to the security of the borders and the safety of the American public. Candidates will receive training and join an elite team committed to their mission. The position is open immediately and comes with various incentives and benefits to support new hires.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near the borders.
  • Patrol the international boundary using various government assets.
  • Perform checks on farms, buildings, and traffic.
  • Maintain surveillance from covert positions using specialized equipment.

  • Experience in public safety, security, military police, or law enforcement.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in stressful situations.
