Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents in Nashville, Tennessee. This federal law enforcement role is dedicated to safeguarding the borders and addressing immigration and customs law violations. The position offers a career with a strong sense of purpose, camaraderie among colleagues, and immediate hiring for full-time roles, making it ideal for individuals with experience in public safety, military police, or law enforcement.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near the borders.
  • Conduct surveillance and use infrared scopes during night operations.
  • Interpret physical evidence of illegal entry and conduct checks on farms, buildings, and vehicles.
  • Patrol international boundaries and waterways using various government assets.

Required skills

  • General work experience demonstrating decision-making skills in stressful situations.
  • Ability to learn regulations and methods through training.
  • Experience in law enforcement, military police, or public safety roles.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills related to the use of firearms.
  • Proficiency in both Spanish and English after training.
