Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol is hiring entry-level Border Patrol Agents to protect the nation's borders and ensure public safety. This federal law enforcement career offers the opportunity to work alongside an elite team while making a significant impact on the country and its citizens.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near borders.
  • Conduct patrols and surveillance using various government assets.
  • Perform checks on farms, buildings, and traffic.
  • Respond to and investigate incidents related to border security.

Required skills

  • Experience in public safety, law enforcement, or military police.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in stressful situations.
  • Strong observational and questioning skills.
  • Ability to analyze information rapidly and make prompt decisions.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish (training provided).
  • Citizenship in the U.S.
