Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) for full-time positions in federal law enforcement, focusing on the protection of America’s borders. Candidates will be part of a dedicated team that values teamwork and problem-solving while working in various mission-critical locations.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration violations
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers
  • Perform surveillance and patrol the international boundary and coastal waterways
  • Conduct farm checks, building checks, and traffic checks
  • Utilize various government assets for patrol and surveillance

Required skills

  • Experience in public safety, security, military police, or law enforcement
  • Ability to make sound decisions under stress
  • Strong observational and questioning skills
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to analyze information rapidly
