Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents (BPA) to join its ranks in federal law enforcement. This role is ideal for candidates looking for a meaningful career in public safety and security, contributing to the protection of America's borders and citizens. New hires will undergo extensive training at the U.S. Border Patrol Academy and can expect job stability along with various incentives for relocation and retention.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws
  • Conduct surveillance and patrol borders using various government assets
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented individuals and smugglers
  • Perform checks on farms, buildings, and transportation

Required skills

  • Experience in public safety, law enforcement, or military police
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
  • Strong decision-making and judgment skills, particularly in the use of firearms
  • Analytical skills for rapid information processing
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
