Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) to join their team in protecting the nation's borders and enforcing immigration laws. This full-time position offers a rewarding career in federal law enforcement with immediate hiring and significant incentives for new hires, including recruitment and retention bonuses.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near borders.
  • Maintain surveillance from covert positions and conduct inspections.
  • Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets.
  • Perform checks on farms, buildings, and transportation for compliance.

Required skills

  • One year of general work experience or a bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to make sound judgments and decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Experience in law enforcement, security, or military police.
  • Capacity to gather and analyze information effectively.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
