Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) to join a dedicated team in federal law enforcement. This position involves safeguarding the borders, deterring illicit activities, and contributing to national security. Newly hired agents can expect excellent base pay, job stability, and significant recruitment and retention incentives.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers.
  • Conduct surveillance and patrol the borders using various government assets.
  • Perform inspections and checks on documents, possessions, and vehicles.
  • Respond to emergencies and maintain public safety.

Required skills

  • Experience in public safety, security, or law enforcement.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in high-stress situations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with law enforcement regulations and methods.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English.
