Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol is hiring for entry-level Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) in Great Falls, Montana. This full-time federal law enforcement position is designed for candidates with backgrounds in public safety, security, or military police, aiming for a long-term career dedicated to protecting America's borders.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near borders
  • Perform surveillance using infrared scopes during night operations
  • Interpret physical evidence of illegal entry and inspect documentation
  • Conduct farm checks, traffic checks, and patrol international boundaries and waterways

Required skills

  • Experience in a law enforcement, military, or security role
  • Ability to make sound decisions and maintain composure in stressful situations
  • Strong observational skills and ability to gather information
  • Ability to analyze information rapidly and make prompt decisions
  • Familiarity with firearms and sound judgment in their use
