Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents (BPA) in Atlanta, Georgia. This role involves full-time federal law enforcement duties aimed at protecting the country's borders and ensuring public safety. Candidates with backgrounds in public safety, security, military police, or law enforcement may qualify for this career with significant support, training, and incentives.

Key responsibilities

  • Protect the American people by safeguarding borders and deterring illicit activities.
  • Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration and customs violations.
  • Apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near borders.
  • Maintain surveillance to prevent illegal entries using various techniques and equipment.
  • Patrol international boundaries and waterways using government assets.

Required skills

  • General work experience demonstrating decision-making in stressful situations.
  • Ability to learn regulations and methods through training.
  • Bachelor's degree or related education may substitute for experience.
  • Specialized work experience in law enforcement or military may qualify for higher grades.
