Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents to join their team in protecting America's borders and ensuring public safety. This role offers a career in federal law enforcement, which is supported by extensive training, job stability, and opportunities for advancement within the agency.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws
  • Maintain surveillance to prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers
  • Perform inspections of documents and possessions to determine citizenship and violations
  • Conduct patrols using various government assets such as vehicles, horses, and vessels
  • Analyze and interpret evidence of illegal entries and contraband
  • Engage in a variety of law enforcement activities such as traffic checks and city patrols

Required skills

  • Experience in public safety, security, military police, or law enforcement
  • Ability to make sound judgments and decisions under stress
  • Strong communication and observational skills
  • Familiarity with surveillance techniques and use of firearms
  • Education qualification including a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
