Job Description

Overview

The Boiler Operator II at CoxHealth is responsible for maintaining and inspecting HVAC and mechanical systems, as well as performing safety inspections. This role requires monitoring various systems including boiler steam, condensate, and chiller systems, while responding to work requests and completing assignments in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance on HVAC and mechanical systems
  • Conduct safety inspections and monitor systems
  • Inspect and maintain boiler steam and condensate systems
  • Respond to work requests promptly and professionally
  • Utilize Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) as dispatch
  • Work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Trade School in mechanical fields preferred
  • At least three years of boiler/chiller/mechanical work experience
  • Proficient communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload
  • Technical skills for equipment repairs
  • Knowledge of safety operations for tools used
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Understanding of fire alarm systems and HVAC regulations
  • Licenses: Active Driver's License required
  • STI Fire Stop Certification preferred
  • State License for Boiler Operator preferred
