Overview

The Boiler Operator II at L.E. Cox Medical Centers is tasked with the proficient maintenance of HVAC and mechanical systems, along with electrical and plumbing duties. This role involves monitoring, maintaining, and inspecting various systems, and responding promptly to work requests.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance on boiler steam, condensate systems, and chiller systems
  • Inspect and maintain booster pumps and tube stations
  • Serve as dispatch for Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS)
  • Respond to work requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Complete work assignments efficiently
  • Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Trade School in mechanical fields (preferred)
  • At least three years of boiler/chiller/mechanical experience
  • Proficient communication skills
  • Problem-solving abilities for equipment malfunctions
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
  • Proficient knowledge of tools for maintenance tasks
  • Licenses: Active Driver's License
  • Preferred: STI Fire Stop Certification
