Overview

State Farm is seeking a Bodily Injury Paralegal for its Fort Lauderdale Claim Litigation office. This role supports attorneys in various legal tasks related to civil litigation, particularly in the insurance defense sector. It offers a collaborative work environment and opportunities for career growth without the pressure of billable hours.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in discovery and pre-trial matters under supervision
  • Support attorneys in managing assigned case files and delivering legal services
  • Prepare cases for court appearances, depositions, and trial
  • Collect and summarize medical records and billing information
  • Draft motions and pleadings

Required skills

  • 2 years of recent civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense
  • Paralegal experience with a background in drafting discovery responses and trial preparation
  • Familiarity with Florida court rules and procedures
  • Experience in reviewing medical records and preparing medical chronologies
  • Strong organizational and independent work skills
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail
  • Experience with Evermap, Adobe Bookmarking, and case/document management systems
