Overview

State Farm is seeking a Bodily Injury Attorney for its Fort Lauderdale office to provide high-quality legal services in a cost-effective manner. The role involves ownership of cases, participation in litigation events, and collaboration with a team while being in a hybrid work arrangement. The ideal candidate should have experience in insurance defense, handling bodily injury cases, and a strong background in litigation.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle litigation and legal assignments according to established guidelines
  • Prepare and summarize reports for legal proceedings
  • Develop trial strategy and handle case development
  • Attend litigation events, including trials, mediations, depositions, and hearings

Required skills

  • 2+ years of experience in litigation, preferably in insurance defense
  • First-chair trial experience
  • Knowledge of local and state discovery rules and trial procedures
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Technology/software experience and ability to work with cases electronically
  • Working knowledge of a Case Management system and Document Storage system
  • J.D. from an A.B.A. Accredited Law School
  • Active law license to practice in Florida
