Overview

The Boat Mechanic at Gordy's Marine will be responsible for repairing and servicing various boats at the company’s service locations. This role is ideal for a service-minded boat enthusiast with an entrepreneurial spirit, dedicated to maintaining high standards of customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform major and minor mechanical repairs on boats
  • Conduct service calls and document customer repair needs
  • Follow manufacturer’s warranty policies in warranty work
  • Install accessories and prepare boats for rigging
  • Ensure safety standards are met during repairs and maintenance
  • Work with various boat systems, including Mercruiser, Volvo, and Yamaha engines

Required skills

  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a mechanic
  • Proven experience repairing and servicing boats and engines
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of marine systems and safety standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Relevant certifications or technical training preferred
