The Boat Mechanic at Gordy's Marine is a skilled technician responsible for repairing and maintaining boats at their service locations. This role emphasizes exceptional customer service and requires a service-minded individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and upholds the company's reputation for excellence.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform major and minor mechanical repairs on boats
  • Conduct service calls and document customer repair needs
  • Prepare and rig boats for maintenance
  • Install accessories and handle warranty work according to policies
  • Complete shop inspections and maintain organization
  • Work on various boat systems including Mercruiser, Volvo, and Yamaha

Required skills

  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a mechanic
  • Proven experience in repairing and servicing boats, engines, and electrical systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of marine systems and safety standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Relevant certifications or technical training preferred
