Overview

The University of Cincinnati's Hoxworth Blood Center is seeking an Advanced Blood Bank Technician for the third shift. This role involves preparing blood component products for transfusion through specialized laboratory procedures, contributing to a mission of saving lives through blood donation and processing.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare blood component products for transfusion, including red blood cells and plasma derivatives
  • Label and dispose of blood products as necessary
  • Assist in training new staff and students
  • Evaluate donor specimens and perform electronic data entry for testing
  • Maintain and update blood product inventory data
  • Conduct tests for infectious agents on blood samples
  • Perform quality control checks on laboratory equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Required skills
