Overview

The Blood Bank Manager at Upson Regional Medical Center is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the technical activities within the blood bank, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies. This role involves training new employees and may require floating to other sections of the lab as needed.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise technical activities of the blood bank
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements
  • Train and orient new employees
  • Float to other sections within the lab as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related laboratory field
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MT) by ASCP, AMT, or AAB
  • Three years clinical experience, preferably in an acute care hospital setting
  • Knowledge of blood bank operations
  • Strong team leadership capabilities
  • Experience in regulatory compliance
  • Training and mentoring skills
