Overview

The Blood Bank Manager at Upson Regional Medical Center is responsible for coordinating and supervising technical activities in the blood bank. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and participates in the training and orientation of new staff, while potentially assisting in other laboratory sections as needed.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise the technical activities of the blood bank
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements
  • Participate in training and orientation of new employees
  • Float to other sections within the lab if needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in related laboratory field
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MT) by ASCP, AMT, or AAB
  • Three years clinical experience, preferably in an acute care hospital setting
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
