Overview

The BIM Technician at Baker Group plays a crucial role in assisting project teams with the development and management of Building Information Models (BIM) and construction documentation for Mechanical and Electrical systems. This position is tailored for detail-oriented individuals eager to learn and grow within the BIM and construction technology sector.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist project teams in creating and maintaining 3D models and 2D documents for construction purposes using Autodesk software.
  • Utilize Point Cloud/Laser scan files for alignment and arrangement of large files.
  • Generate views, sheets, and annotations for Install documents.
  • Modify Install drawings based on as-built conditions or field markups.
  • Create Install and Spool drawings, installation details, and Revit family parts.
  • Support model coordination and meet strict project deadlines.

Required skills

  • Minimum two years of experience with Mechanical, Plumbing, or Electrical systems design.
  • Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit, and Navisworks.
  • Practical experience with Bluebeam and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to balance immediate responsibilities and long-term goals.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with various team members.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
