Overview

OnPoint Medical Group is seeking a Billing & A/R Specialist to support their revenue cycle management team. This role involves handling claims submission, payment verification, denial appeals, and patient account support in a physician-led organization dedicated to providing quality healthcare.

Key responsibilities

  • Submit clean claims or assist with claim submissions
  • Verify contractual payments and investigate discrepancies
  • Review, correct, and appeal unpaid or denied claims
  • Work with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients for timely claim processing
  • Run and analyze accounts receivable reports
  • Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing and account statements
  • Maintain accounts receivable balances according to company standards
  • Perform duties in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of healthcare experience
  • Minimum 1 year of medical billing experience
  • Strong computer skills
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), preferably Athenahealth
  • Bilingual skills preferred
  • Certified billing and/or coding preferred
