Bilingual Incentives & Sign on Bonus!$200 monthly bilingual stipend!$500 Sign-On Bonus: $250 paid on your first paycheck and $250 paid upon successful completion of 90 days of employment!Bilingual Collector Location: 11149 Research Blvd, Austin, TX,78759 Schedule: Monday - Friday: schedules are assigned within business hours of 8:00 AM-6:30 PM and may vary based on operational needs. One Saturday shift per month is required from 8:00 AM-12:00 PM. FLSA Status: Nonexempt Salary Range: $43,000- $47,500Austin Telco FCU is looking for a Collector to join our family. The Collector maintains day-to-day collection procedures and manages loan accounts in all phases of delinquency while adhering to procedures established by Austin Telco Federal Credit Union. This role provides consistent follow-up, member communication, and documentation to support timely resolution and protect the credit union's financial interests, while supporting Austin Telco's mission and values of Respect, Empathy, Service, Integrity, and Cooperation. What you'll do: Member Communication & Collection Support Maintain consistent daily follow-up on past due and delinquent accounts while ensuring queue complianceUtilize telephone and email communication to assist members regarding delinquent accountsCounsel members on the importance of maintaining positive credit standing and resolving delinquent balancesMaintain professionalism, empathy, and discretion while working with members experiencing financial hardshipMail letters regarding late payments on delinquent accounts Account Research & Processing Research delinquent accounts for posting errors and assist with correcting discrepanciesObtain credit reports as requiredComplete documentation for loan extensions and collection refinancesProcess towing notifications and act accordinglyPrepare loan documents for scanningAssist with clerical duties and daily mail Operational Excellence Refer and/or confer with the Director of Collections or Senior Collector regarding problem accountsComplete all scheduled training sessions to support job competency and compliance standardsAcquire and maintain a basic understanding of Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI)Exercise sound judgment and decision-making within the scope of the roleParticipate in additional projects or duties as assignedWhat You Bring:Experience: Minimum of six (6) months of experience in a bank, credit union, or other financial institution.Education: High school diploma or GEDCommunication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with members regarding financial matters.Confidentiality & Integrity: Proven ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion, professionalism, and integrity.Organization & Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accurate documentation, manage responsibilities efficiently, and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.Language Skills: Bilingual in Spanish and English required.Preferred:Experience collecting secured or unsecured consumer loansWhy You'll Love Working Here:Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, plus optional coverage for critical illness and legal support.Paid Time Off: Federal holidays, vacation, sick leave, and special paid days for birthdays and work anniversaries.Retirement Plans: 401(k) with company match and a pension plan to support long-term financial goals.Supportive Culture: A mission-driven team that puts people first and offers opportunities for growth in a collaborative and service-focused environment.
