Job Description

Overview

Waste Management is seeking a Bilingual Accounting Supervisor to join their finance team in Montreal or Ottawa. The role involves supervising a small team, overseeing daily accounting operations, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations while maintaining the accuracy of financial records.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise monthly close activities and prepare income and balance sheet statements
  • Organize and schedule resources to accomplish accounting activities
  • Analyze and reconcile financial information and general ledger accounts
  • Prepare and analyze forecasts and projections
  • Provide financial support to district and maintenance managers
  • Train and evaluate accounting personnel, managing productivity
  • Approve AP invoices, customer credits, P-card transactions
  • Review and verify accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or similar field or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of relevant work experience
  • CPA certification
  • Bilingual in French and English (written and spoken)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of ORACLE software
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in process improvement and internal controls
