Overview

Waste Management is looking for a Bilingual Accounting Supervisor to join their finance team in Montreal or Ottawa. The role entails supervising a team of 2-3 accounting professionals, managing daily accounting operations, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations while contributing to the accuracy of financial records.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise monthly close activities
  • Prepare or oversee the preparation of income and balance sheet statements
  • Analyze and reconcile financial information and general ledger accounts
  • Prepare and analyze financial forecasts and projections
  • Provide financial support to district and maintenance managers
  • Train and manage productivity of accounting employees
  • Approve AP invoices, customer credits, and P-card transactions
  • Review and verify accuracy of journal entries and classifications

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent experience
  • High School Diploma or GED with four years of relevant work experience
  • 5 years of previous accounting experience
  • CPA certification
  • Bilingual in French and English
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of Oracle software
  • Strong analytical and data manipulation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
