Overview

Waste Management is looking for a Bilingual Accounting Supervisor to join their finance team in Montreal or Ottawa. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting skills, supervisory experience, and a keen attention to detail. The position involves overseeing daily accounting operations and guiding a small team of accounting personnel in various accounting functions.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise monthly close activities and oversee the preparation of financial statements
  • Analyze and reconcile financial information and general ledger accounts
  • Prepare forecasts and provide financial support to managers
  • Train and evaluate employees to manage productivity
  • Approve AP invoices, customer credits, and transactions
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and maintain accuracy of financial records

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
  • CPA certification
  • Bilingual in French and English
  • 5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of Oracle
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
