Job Description

Overview

The Benefits Coordinator at Reed Smith LLP is responsible for managing and administering employee benefits programs, including flexible benefits, 401(k) plans, COBRA, leave of absence, and accommodations. The role requires strong technical proficiency in PeopleSoft, effective communication skills, and the ability to provide excellent customer service while supporting employees and vendors.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage employee benefits programs including flexible benefits and 401(k) plans
  • Administer COBRA functions and maintain compliance with applicable laws
  • Serve as a liaison between employees, vendors, and the firm
  • Process benefit enrollments and terminations
  • Investigate and resolve employee inquiries about benefits
  • Prepare benefit materials and communicate options to employees
  • Assist in annual audits to ensure accuracy of benefit data
  • Support wellness initiatives and coordinate related events
  • Maintain and update benefits documents and intranet content
  • Perform administrative tasks related to benefit programs

Required skills

  • Experience with PeopleSoft Benefits Admin and eBenefits modules
  • Knowledge of benefits administration and COBRA regulation
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office products including Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
