Job Description

Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Behavioral Health at SSM Health DePaul Hospital provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. This role entails supporting behavioral health patients through assessments, medication administration, and therapeutic services, along with educating patients and families about treatment plans and self-care.

Key responsibilities

  • Contributes to the assessment of patients and ensures their well-being.
  • Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Administers medications and observes patients for adverse reactions.
  • Performs point of care testing and therapeutic services.
  • Educates patients and families about treatment plans and post-discharge care.
  • Demonstrates professional nursing standards and uses the ANA Code of Ethics.
  • Maintains a constant state of alertness and safe practice.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
