Overview

The Behavioral Health Clinical Therapist position at UCHealth Yampa Valley Med Center in Steamboat Springs, CO involves providing triage, assessment, and treatment to patients and their families while operating as an independently licensed behavioral health clinician. The role requires working closely with patients in both individual and group settings and participating in discharge planning and education.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement counseling and therapy for assigned patients in individual and group settings
  • Interview and assess patients and/or their families for treatment planning
  • Determine and arrange for needed internal and external services
  • Participate in case reviews and care conferences to evaluate patient progress
  • Assist with discharge planning and identifying community resources
  • Collaborate with the care team on discharge planning needs
  • Utilize teaching methods to meet patient and family educational needs
  • Train new staff, students, and interns as assigned

Required skills

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
  • State licensure as LCSW, LPC, MFT, or ACD
  • Critical thinking and decisive judgment skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in crisis intervention and psychotherapy
