Job Description

Overview

The Behavioral Health Clinical Therapist will provide triage, assessment, and treatment to patients and families within UCHealth's Primary Care departments in Steamboat Springs and Craig, Colorado. This role involves working as an independently licensed behavioral health clinician to implement counseling and therapy for assigned patients while collaborating with the care team for effective discharge planning.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement counseling and therapy for assigned patients in individual and group settings
  • Interview and assess patients and their families or caregivers
  • Determine and arrange needed internal and external services and interventions
  • Participate in case reviews and care conferences to evaluate patient progress
  • Assist with discharge planning and identify community-based resources
  • Ensure patient and family educational needs are met through appropriate teaching methods
  • Participate in training new staff, students, and interns as assigned

Required skills

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
  • State licensure as Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Marriage and Family Th
  • 2 years' relevant experience preferred
