Job Description

Overview

The Behavioral Health Clinical Therapist at UCHealth Parkview Medical Center is responsible for providing triage, assessment, and treatment for patients and their families in the behavioral health department. This role requires independent operation as a licensed clinician, focusing on patient care, educational needs, and discharge planning in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement counseling and therapy for assigned patients in individual and group settings
  • Interview and assess patients and their families or legal representatives
  • Determine and arrange needed internal and external services and interventions
  • Participate in case reviews and care conferences to evaluate patient progress
  • Assist with discharge planning and identify community-based resources
  • Collaborate with the care team on discharge planning needs
  • Utilize teaching methods to meet patient and family educational needs
  • Participate in training new staff, students, and interns as assigned

Required skills

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field
  • State licensure as LCSW, LPC, MFT, or other approved certification
  • Crisis intervention and patient assessment skills
  • Team collaboration and discharge planning experience
  • Critical thinking and decisive judgment abilities
