Job Description

Overview

The Behavioral Health Clinical Therapist at UCHealth provides triage, assessment, and treatment to patients and their families in a fast-paced inpatient behavioral health environment. This role requires independent operation as a licensed clinician and involves both individual and group therapy, discharge planning, and collaboration with care teams for optimal patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement counseling and therapy for assigned patients in individual and group settings
  • Conduct interviews and assessments for patients and their families
  • Determine and arrange necessary internal and external services and interventions
  • Participate in case reviews and care conferences to evaluate patient progress
  • Assist with discharge planning and identify community-based resources
  • Ensure patient and family educational needs are met through appropriate teaching methods
  • Train new staff, students, and interns as assigned

Required skills

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
  • State licensure (LCSW, LPC, MFT, or Licensed Addiction Counselor)
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire
  • Advanced CPI certification within 30 days of hire
  • Critical thinking and decisive judgment skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
