Job Description

Overview

The Behavioral Health Clinical Therapist at UCHealth provides assessment, counseling, and treatment services to patients and families in a residential care setting. This role is responsible for collaborating with care teams and assisting with discharge planning, educational resources, and patient interventions.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement counseling and therapy for patients in individual and group settings.
  • Conduct interviews and assessments of patients and their families.
  • Arrange internal and external services or interventions as needed.
  • Participate in case reviews and care conferences to evaluate patient progress.
  • Assist with discharge planning and identify community resources.
  • Ensure patient and family educational needs are met.
  • Train new staff, students, and interns as assigned.
  • Utilize critical thinking and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
  • State licensure as LCSW, LPC, MFT, or Licensed Addiction Counselor.
  • Experience in counseling, psychotherapy, and case management.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
