Job Description

Overview

As a Behavioral Health Clinical Therapist at UCHealth, you will provide triage, assessment, and treatment to patients and their families. The role involves conducting individual and group therapy sessions, collaborating with other care team members, and assisting with discharge planning for patients. This position requires an independent, licensed behavioral health clinician who can work in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement counseling/therapy for assigned patients in individual and group settings
  • Interview and assess patients, families, and caregivers
  • Determine and arrange needed internal and external services/interventions
  • Participate in case reviews and care conferences to evaluate patient progress
  • Assist with discharge planning and identify community-based resources
  • Collaborate with care team on patient discharge planning needs
  • Utilize appropriate teaching methods for patient and family education
  • Participate in training new staff, students, and interns as assigned

Required skills

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
  • State licensure as LCSW, LPC, MFT, or Licensed Addiction Counselor
  • Experience in behavioral health, counseling, and psychotherapy
  • Skills in patient assessment, case management, and crisis intervention
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a fast-paced environment
