Job Description

Overview

The Behavioral Health Clinical Therapist at UCHealth is responsible for providing triage, assessment, and treatment to patients and their families in an inpatient behavioral health setting. This role requires independence as a licensed behavioral health clinician and involves various responsibilities such as implementing therapy, discharge planning, and coordinating care.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement counseling/therapy for assigned patients in both individual and group settings
  • Interview and assess patients and/or their families, caregivers, or legal representatives
  • Determine, provide, and/or arrange for needed services/interventions
  • Participate in case reviews/care conferences to evaluate patient progress
  • Assist with discharge planning, identifying community-based resources and referrals
  • Utilize appropriate teaching methods to meet patient/family educational needs
  • Participate in training new staff, students, and interns as assigned

Required skills

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
  • State licensure as LCSW, LPC, MFT, or other approved licensure/certification
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience in fast-paced environments
