Job Description

Overview

The Behavioral Health Clinical Therapist at UCHealth is responsible for the assessment and management of psychiatric patients, working closely with emergency department personnel. This role, which requires independent licensure, involves providing timely intervention recommendations and serving as a primary communication liaison among various stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide quality and timely assessment and recommendations for psychiatric patients
  • Develop and implement safe disposition recommendations
  • Support the integration of community resources and family collaboration
  • Serve as a communication liaison between clients, families, and health care providers
  • Utilize critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment

Required skills

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
  • State licensure as LCSW, LPC, MFT, or ACD
  • Competence with DSM diagnostic criteria and treatment planning
  • Experience in evidenced-based suicide risk assessments
  • Strong clinical and ethical professionalism
  • Conflict resolution and critical thinking skills
